DMCA / Copyright Policy
Effective Date: April 22, 2026
Our Commitment
CIP Sentinel respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of the Site to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (DMCA), we will respond promptly to valid notices of alleged copyright infringement.
Designated Copyright Agent
Notices of alleged copyright infringement should be sent to our Designated Copyright Agent:
Email: dmca@cipsentinel.com
Postal address: Available upon request via email.
Note: CIP Sentinel will register its Designated Agent with the U.S. Copyright Office at dmca.copyright.gov as required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(2). Until that registration is confirmed, notices may still be submitted to the email address above.
Submitting a DMCA Takedown Notice
If you believe material on the Site infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our Designated Agent including all of the following (required under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)):
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed, or a representative list if multiple works are involved.
- Identification of the allegedly infringing material, including its URL or sufficient information for us to locate it.
- Your contact information: name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner.
Notices that do not include all required elements will not be processed. False or misleading notices submitted under penalty of perjury may result in liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
Our Response
Upon receipt of a valid notice, we will:
- Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material.
- Notify the user who posted the material.
- Provide the user with an opportunity to submit a counter-notice.
Counter-Notice Procedure
If your content was removed and you believe it was removed in error or the material is not infringing, you may submit a counter-notice including:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material removed and the location where it appeared.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and consent to the jurisdiction of the U.S. District Court for the judicial district where your address is located (or if outside the U.S., to the jurisdiction where CIP Sentinel operates).
- A statement that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original infringement notice.
Upon receipt of a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original complaining party. Unless the complaining party files a court action within 10-14 business days, we may restore the removed material.
Repeat Infringer Policy
In accordance with the DMCA, CIP Sentinel will terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat copyright infringers, in appropriate circumstances.
